Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy consists primarily of hands-on manipulation of the soft tissues of the body, specifically, the muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and joints for the purpose of optimizing health. Massage Therapy treatment has a therapeutic effect on the body and optimizes health and well-being by acting on the muscular, nervous and circulatory systems.

Physical function can be developed, maintained and improved; and physical dysfunction and pain and the effects of stress can be relieved or prevented through the use of Massage Therapy.

At Legend Wellness Centre, we’ve seen massage therapy help with shoulder pain, rotator cuff injuries, TMJ, plantar fasciitis, tendonitis, knee pain, whiplash, headaches, neck pain, hip pain, arthritis and many other conditions. We believe that massage is not just about feeling better in the short term, but actually getting better, and staying better. That’s why we stay up to date on the latest research and techniques and use a variety of techniques including massage, joint mobilizations, stretching, heat and ice, exercise programs and MLD to achieve results. Medical massage is the option for recovery and prevention of many common (and uncommon) problems.

Whether you’re a weekend warrior who’s taken on a new fitness challenge, or a serious athlete who’s pushing your body to the limit, your therapist can tailor a massage treatment that is specific to your sport or activity. The focus is on relieving muscle stiffness and fatigue, promoting faster recovery time, and optimizing your range of motion and muscle balance–all aimed at enhancing your training and athletic performance.
